Fine Silver Wire Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Vase w/Osprey Eagle on a Mossy Rock Amid Roiling Ocean Waves
A rare and fine and beautiful Japanese Meiji cloisonne vase in round form , a short, narrow incurving neck, and sloping shoulders tapering down to a narrower foot. The body is made of copper with designs made with colored enamels and silica.
The design is out of the “Predator and Prey” theme, but without the prey. It features a large Osprey eagle perched on a mossy rock n the ocean and amid large and roiling waves with pieces of sea foam launching into the air. The eagle is done in whites, dark colors, pale green and yellow and is flapping its wings and preparing to fly off in search of the aforementioned prey
The vase is 6” tall. Unsigned. Excellent antique condition. Stand not included.
