(SOLD) A fine silver wire Japanese cloisonné vase from the Meiji era in round form with baluster shape and wide short incurving neck with flared out mouth.

The design is of the captive and trained Raptor appearing to be a large eagle who is perched and tied to a wooden railing on two posts, resembling a Tori gate? The eagle has slightly flared wings. The eagle is attached to the mount by fine black ropes but there also very fancy red woven ropes with purple tassels. The wood on the mount is highly grained and is rendered in colors of purple and yellow. Very fine silver wire is used in delineating the eagle’s feathers on the body and the wings.

The vase is 7” tall. Unsigned. Excellent condition with no damages. Stand not included.
