Fine silver wire Japanese Meiji cloisonné vase. The vase is in round form with a short, stout, incurving neck and a flared mouth and with narrow foot. The base material is copper with silver or silvered mounts.
The design is of a single long tailed pheasant or Bird of Paradise perched on rocks overlooking a small stream passing by. There is a young wisteria plant sending up s shoot with small clusters of white flowers. The background is a highly polished wireless pale blue.
