Beautiful Fine Silver Wire Antique Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Hexagonal vase w/ Maple in Fall Colors

This is a small and highly detailed Meiji cloisonné vase that is packed with detail done in fine silver wire. The vase is hexagonal (six sided ) with rounded, thin neck and a flared out round mouth. The corners of the sides are rounded and the body gradually taper down to a round, narrow foot. The vase is made of copper with a silvered brass rims and silvered throat plate.

The design consists a naturalistic scene of is a maple tree in full Fall colors. The tree spreads out over several panels with the colorful leaves providing a canopy for the Japanese iris growing at the base of the tree. The iris are deep purple, blue and buff, and whiten colors. There are also chrysanthemums in warm colors growing with the iris. Note the silver wiring for the veins in the iris flowers. On the reverse are Japanese iris buds in deep purple and orange. There is a geometric border sat the mouth and r at the foot. The back ground is a highly polished, wireless black or dark midnight-blue.

The vase is 6” tall. Signed on the bottom with with the impressed mark of an unverified artist. Excellent condition. Stand not included.
