Large Fine Silver Wire Japanese Meiji Cloisonné Vase with Colorful Lilies * Signed Gonda
A very rare fantastic eye-popping antique fine silver wire Japanese cloisonné vase from the Meiji era (1868 - 1912). The vase is in round form with incurving neck and out curving flared out mouth. The body of the vase tapers in at the bottom with a flared out foot. The mouth has been shaped in the form of flower petals. The body is copper with silver wires and colored enamels applied. There are brass rims, a brass throat plate, and an enameled base on the brass bottom.
The design is of a stand of bright colorful lilies on long stems against a dark blue background. The lilies are in reds and blues and purples and yellow and orange. There is a single red-pink lily on the reverse. The stems are in blues and pale greens. The vase is 12" tall. Signed to the base with the applied enamel mark of Gonda Hirosuke. Excellent condition.
