(SOLD) A rare and fine and beautiful tall Japanese Meiji cloisonne vase of terrific quality round form a short neck, flared mouth, and broad shoulders tapering out an in out down to a narrow foot. The body is made of copper with designs made with colored enamels and silica.

The design is of a single mature white flowering cherry tree in full bloom at Springtime. Amid the branches are two pigeons, a blue one and a purple one. The pigeons and each flower and leaf are very finely and delicately wired. At the base of the tree are growing chrysanthemum in red, yellow, white and purple. There are two rows of borders at the mouth and the foot, each. The bottom border has a unique arabesque design.

The vase is 7” tall. The vase is signed on the base by by the impressed signature of Sato. This is not your father’s Sato but your great-grandfather’s Sato, from the turn of the 20th century. Excellent condition. Stand not included.
