(SOLD) This is a fine Gold wire and silver wire Japanese Meiji Golden Age cloisonné vase with a beautiful unique curvilinear shape. The vase is in round form with very short round neck, wide bulbous shoulders tapering in and outwards down to a wide foot.

The design is simple and elegant and depicts two gold wired wild birds flying amid stalks of bamboo. At the base of the bamboo are growing fine, small chrysanthemum plants and white and yellow flowers. The bamboo is rendered in shades of green, gray and blue.Very fine silver wire is used on the other elements of the design. The workmanship is very intricate, especially on the flowers near the base and the details of the birds.

The vase is 7 1/4” tall. Signed to the base with the impressed “Lotus” mark of Ota Tameshiro. Excellent condition with only some fine pitting typical to older pieces. Stand not included.
