Fine Silver Wire Japanese Meiji Cloisonné Vase Eagle & Prey w/ Green Sky
A fine silver wire Japanese cloisonné vase from the Meiji era in round form.
The design is of the predator and prey theme and features a fierce eagle perched on craggy rocks with waves crashing all around . The eagle is spotting several small birds on the horizon of a deep green sky and is poised for attack. We have seen a similar vase with eagle and a green sky of the approximately the same shade signed by Hayashi Kodenji. Very fine silver wire is used to delineate the eagle’s feathers but the cracky rocks are outlined in thick sculpted wire.
The vase is 5” tall. Unsigned. Stand not included.
