(SOLD) This is a figural vase from the Meiji era done in fine silver wire with colored enamels. The vase is copper with bras rims and base.
The design is on the goddess Kanon riding through the skies on the back of a fierce brown dragon with yellow eyes and red trialing flames. The dragon’s eyes look intently at Kanon while Kanon gazes serenely into the distance. Kanon is wearing elegant robes and jewelry robes. her outer robe depicts clouds against a blue robe sky while her inner garments are dark with floral decoration. Her feet are bare and in one hand she holds a yellow colored sea shell. Behind her in the dark sky is a setting sun. The background is a wireless highly polished black background.
