(SOLD) Rare Rounded Fine Silver Wire Japanese Meiji Cloisonne Vase * Ota Tameshiro?
(SOLD) A Japanese cloisonne Meiji era vase in round form with high, broad shoulders, a short neck with flared out mouth and body tapering roundly down to the round base.
The silver wire design depicts a wisteria vine hanging from the neck of the vase and splayed across the broad shoulders, with pendulous clusters of lush purple and white blooms. Three finely detailed wild song birds are on the vine. The background is a highly polished wireless shining black or very dark midnight blue. There is a geometric border under the upper rim and a fine border at the base with a repeating floral image.
The vase is 6” tall. Unsigned but some design elements consistent with Ota Tameshiro. Excellent condition with only a small nick next to the bird .
