(SOLD) A very rare and finely wired and very high quality Meiji vase in hexagonal-form with six sides and six panels. The vase is made of a copper vase with applied fine silver wire and colored enamels. The rims ares silver and the bottom ring appears to be gold-dipped brass..

The panels depict naturalistic scenes with flowers and birds. The panels have alternating panels with backgrounds of mauve and light blue. The panels are elaborately shaped with dark purple borders on the mauve panels and dark brown outlining on the light blue panels. The mauve panels have various forms of chrysanthemum flowers and blue gentian flowers. The light blue panels have lilies, asiatic poppies, and some unidentified yellow flowers. Behind the panels is a black background. There are elaborate borders at the mouth, neck, shoulders and foot., as is typical to these panel vases.

The vase is 6” tall. Unsigned by strongly attributed to Ota Hyozo. Excellent condition with only a tiny nick (1 mm )right on the edge of a side, towards the bottom (see close-up photo) with no related cracks or lines or any other damages on the vase.
