Rare and Unique Antique Silver Wire Japanese Cloisonne Vase Swirling Phoenix on Aventurine Signed Ota
A small but very beautiful fine Japanese Meiji cloisonne vase in round form with a pillow shaped body with a narrow, rounded foot and an elongated gradually curving neck and very slightly flared mouth.
The design consists of several phoenix birds with extensive tail feathers in pale blue and pink swirling around the waist and shoulders of the body of the vase. The birds are floating amidst green leafy tendrils with pale yellow vines and pink flowers on a translucent aventurine translucent surface with orange-yellow coloration. There are geometric borders on the shoulder, at the bottom of the neck, and at the base of the foot. There is a large juicy border hanging from the neck that includes interesting stylized faces. There are tiny borders of cloisonne rondels with black enamel
The vase is 5" tall. Excellent condition. Signed to the base with the hand-incised, tiny three kanji characters on Ota Jinnoei. Please contact us with any questions you may have about this piece.
