(SOLD) This is a large fine silver wire modernistic vase from the Meiji Era (1868 - 1912) in round form with a short incurving neck and widely flared mouth with rounded shoulders tapering down to a flared-out foot. The vase is copper with brass mounts including, rims, throat plate, and base plate.

The vase design is composed of very large multi-shaped cartouches containing finely drawn naturalistic subjects . There is a fan shaped beige cartouche with chrysanthemums with garden fence posts and butterflies. There is another that is heart-shaped and contains peony flowers underneath blossom-heavy branches of a Sakura tree on a peach-colored ground. There is a square-shaped cartouche featuring a landscape with steep mountains, a waterfall, a stream running towards the foreground, hills studded with maple trees in bright Fall colors and a small hut near the maple trees. There is a round cartouche with white chrysanthemum flowers against a pea-green sky. The cartouches lay against the khaki-green shadows of willow branches and a stream. The background is black with small flecks of goldstone.
