(SOLD) A beautifully shaped Meiji cloisonne vase in round form with long neck, flared mouth, and broad shoulders tapering sharply down to a narrow foot. The body is made of copper and a design made with colored enamels in silver wire
The design is several Asiatic poppy plants with ruffled edged lanceolate leaves in bloom with purple and buff colored flowers. The flowers have yellow centers. The leaves have fine silver wire veins while they petals are outlined in very thick silver wire. The background is a black or very dark midnight blue color.
