Very Rare Antique Silver Wire Japanese Cloisonne Vase * Tamura

$1,699.00
Sold

A very rare vase in round form with short, very narrow neck and flared mouth.   The design consists of three black crows perched in a weeping willow tree. The vase is meticulously designed and executed. Note the fine wirework on the crow’s feet and feathers. There is a meticulous silver wire border around the neck with white flowers on silver tendrils surrounded by a red enamel border. The throat plate and base plate have been worked to make an abstract pattern on the surfaces. The background is a highly polished light beige brown (latte) color.   The vase is almost 9” tall.  It is signed to the base with the incised signature of Tamura.  Now, this is not your grandfather’s Tamura but rather your great grandfather’s Tamura – a popular Meiji era artist. The vase is in excellent condition.

Note: Wooden stand used for display purposes only, and not included.
