(SOLD) A fine and beautiful Japanese Meiji cloisonne covered jar with finial in hexagonal form with circular body and a hexagonal mouth and lid and mounted on three brass feet. The lid has an attached round wired and enameled finial.

The design on this jar is complex with six separate framed panels depicting flowers and insects and birds, including butterflies. The panels appear as if they are laying upon a backdrop of large stylized flower-heads on a black ground. The lid also has a black ground with floor heads and the finial is black with reinforcing silver wire and a white flowerhead at the top. The bottom depicts a large red and white stylized chrysanthemum with a surrounding translucent green enamel border.
